On January 6, TikTok Star Jovi Pena took to social media to claim that she was raped at New Year’s party hosted by Kai Cenat. She also blamed Kai Cenat for not helping her and shared screen grabs of chats between her and Kai Cenat. On January 7, in response to allegations of sexual assault, Kai Cenat said that he does not condone any act of sexual assault and expressed his sympathy for the victim. Kai clarified that he was not aware of what happened that night, and also appealed to his followers not to harass Jovi Pena.

In response to Kai’s video message, Jovi took to social media again and posted that she had done everything possible within 24 hours of the rape. She went to the hospital, then to the police, but still felt like things weren’t moving as quickly as they should have been. However, since she posted her story online, things seem to be heading in the right direction. Then she thanked Twitch streamer Kai Cenat for taking her allegations seriously and not brushing them off. Although this statement will make things easier for Kai, he has still chosen to cancel his London meet and greet.

The meetup was planned to take place in Hyde Park, London, and the news will surely disappoint many of Kai’s fans. Though Kai, who recently crossed an incredible Twitch subscription milestone, didn’t give a specific reason for the cancelation, it’s highly possible that the controversy is what caused this. If that’s the case, fans might also see Kai delaying other projects, including a video he recently recorded with the UK-based YouTube group Sidemen.

It will be interesting to see how this sexual assault coverup allegations case will affect Kai Cenat, whose publicity is currently on the rise. For someone who is in the public eye, these types of allegations can really do some damage to their reputation if they are not handled carefully.
